McCall, Idaho has many fine fly fishing opportunities. In town is the North Fork of the Payette River, which has both wild and stocked Rainbow Trout.
High country lakes are plentiful and the book, Hiking and Angling in McCall is a great source of information. It's available at McCall Angler.
Tributaries to the Salmon have healthy populations of Cutthroats, Bull Trout, and Rainbows. On most of these streams, it's rare to see another fisherman. It's not uncommon to catch a number of 15-18" Cutthroats and the Bulls go much larger. For an experienced local guide, go to Fly Fish McCall.
The main Salmon is driftboat/jet boat river, though folks wade and fish the banks. Guides operate out of the Riggins area for Steelhead & Salmon fishing there.
Little known to the outside world, the Little Salmon is a hard to fish treasure, with a strong winter Steelhead run. Check Idaho Fish & Game regs, and feel free to call Mike Maciaszek to talk about fly fishing as well as real estate in and around McCall.
